Warband games, also known as skirmish games, are a sub-breed of wargames. Whereas the typical wargame has the player control an entire army, a warband game is much smaller in focus, with the player controlling a single tactical unit, or 'warband' of six to twelve individual models. Examples of this type of game include: *Avalon Hill's ''Squad Leader'' *Games Workshop's ''Mordheim'', ''Gorkamorka'' and ''Necromunda''. *Kenzerco's ''Fairy Meat'' *Wizard of the Coast's ''Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures Game''.
